The FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup, Poland 2026, kicks off this Saturday, 5 September.
Among the teams playing the first matches on this opening day are Tanzania and Benin. Drawn in Group B, the Tanzanian women will begin their FIFA World Cup campaign against Brazil on 5 September. The match will be played at the Bielsko-Biała Stadium, with kick-off scheduled for 4 pm GMT.
Meanwhile, Benin’s U-20 women’s national team will begin the group stage against Mexico in Group A. The Beninese side will take on the Mexicans at the Arena Katowice. Kick-off for this match is scheduled for 7 pm GMT.
This opening day is already shaping up to be a decisive one for the two African teams making their debut on the world stage. Indeed, Tanzania and Benin are taking part in the FIFA Women’s World Cup for the first time in their history.
The Tanzanian and Beninese teams will therefore be keen to make a strong impression from the outset and set their sights on the next round.
