Talented Bristol Rovers midfielder attracts Premier League clubs' attention

Two Premier League clubs are closely monitoring the progress of 18-year-old Bristol Rovers footballer, Kofi Shaw.

The young midfielder has caught the attention of scouts across the country with his technical skills and physical attributes during this breakthrough season with the Rovers.

Shaw began the season on loan at Yeovil Town, where he made a significant impression, scoring two goals.

However, before the loan ended, he was recalled to Bristol Rovers under the guidance of coach Inigo Calderon, and this decision paid off: Kofi continued to display excellent form and made a significant contribution to the team's play.

Now, clubs such as Brighton, Bournemouth, and Burnley from the Championship, as well as others interested in his development, are closely following his progress.

Coach Calderon, however, tries to temper Shaw's successes, stating that he wants to protect him and not rush his development. "I don't want to praise Kofi too much because I want to protect him. We shouldn't rush; it's important that he enjoys football," Calderon said. "But he has shown he's a smart player, and if the ball had to fall to someone, I'd want it to be him. Although physically he's not the strongest, he makes up for it with his quickness and quality in ball play."

Since returning from loan in February, Shaw has played 10 matches for the Rovers, including seven starts, and has spent 584 minutes on the field in seven team games. Last October, he signed a contract with the club that ties him to the Rovers until June 2027.
