+1 talent. Chelsea has signed a Senegalese youngster

Chelsea has completed the transfer of the 17-year-old Senegalese U-17 national team midfielder Pape Daouda Diongue, as reported by insider Fabrizio Romano.

The player, primarily operating as a defensive midfielder, will join Chelsea in the summer. The club has yet to decide whether Diongue will play for the youth team or be sent out on loan.

Chelsea scouts noticed Diongue during the U-17 World Cup held last month in Indonesia. There, Diongue played a crucial role for the Senegalese national team, defeating Argentina and Poland in the group stage but losing to France in the Round of 16.

In his homeland, Diongue plays for Darou Salam.
