Szczęsny has made Lewandowski an important demand in his move to Barcelona
Barcelona are very close to finding a backup for Marc-André ter Stegen while he heals his injury. Polish goalkeeper Wojciech Szczęsny has expressed his willingness to replace the German, but at the same time he comes to the Blaugrana with very serious ambitions.
The 34-year-old goalkeeper has been in conversation with his fellow countryman Robert Lewandowski to discuss his role in the team, and details of the conversation have been revealed by Cadena SER. These behind-the-scenes details make us realise that Szczęsny has no intention of warming the bench:
‘As far as we understand, there was a conversation between Lewandowski and Szczęsny in which the goalkeeper told him that everything was fine and either he was out of the starting line-up or not. Szczęsny said that he will not move to Barça to stay on the bench’
Earlier it became known that the signing of the contract with the 34-year-old goalkeeper is scheduled for 30 September.
