Szczęsny confident he will play for Barcelona this season

When Wojciech Szczęsny joined Barcelona in early October, many fans expected him to quickly replace Iñaki Peña as the starting goalkeeper. However, as time has passed without his debut under Hansi Flick, the Polish keeper remains calm about the situation.

Details: Szczęsny explained that his main priority upon joining Barcelona was regaining his form, which he believes he has now accomplished. While he is confident he will eventually make his debut, he does not know exactly when that will happen.

Quote: "From the very start, I said I needed to get back into shape first. That was the most important thing. Now I feel fully ready to play, both physically and mentally. I won’t hide that if I were the coach of this club, I’d have played exactly as many matches as I’ve played so far.

What does Hansi Flick say to me? He says nothing about this (laughs). We talk a lot. When the team was going through a tough moment and the media tried to apply pressure, I was the first to say that Iñaki Peña deserves full trust. Besides, my perspective has changed. As someone nearing the other side of their career, I feel I can evaluate things more objectively.

Will I play at least one match before the end of the season? I will play, rest assured. [...] What would I like to say to the fans? Wait and see," Szczęsny told Eleven Sports.
