Swiatek's opponent in the final of Roland Garros 2024 has been determined
World No. 1 Iga Świątek has learned the name of her opponent in the final of Roland Garros 2024. Italian Jasmine Paolini, who is ranked 15th in the world, has sensationally reached the decisive match.
In the semifinals, Paolini defeated 17-year-old Mirra Andreeva, who competes without representing any country, in straight sets. Throughout the entire match, the Italian conceded only four games to her opponent.
In the first set, Paolini converted a break point in the fourth game and took a 3-1 lead. Andreeva came close to narrowing the gap in the seventh game but ultimately failed to capitalize on several break points and lost 3-6. In the second set, Andreeva won the first game, but Paolini then claimed all six remaining games.
This will be Paolini’s debut in a Grand Slam final.
The final match between Świątek and Paolini will take place on Saturday, June 8.
