The matches of the group stage of the WTA Finals 2023, held on hard courts in Cancun, Mexico, concluded on the night of November 4.
The eight best female tennis players of the season were divided into two groups, each consisting of four players. Two athletes from each group advanced to the playoffs.
In the "Bacalar" group, American Jessica Pegula secured the top spot with a perfect record of 3 wins. Arina Sabalenka, the world's number one, took the second position. Elena Rybakina claimed the third place, and Maria Sakkari settled in fourth.
From the "Chetumal" group, Iga Swiatek and Coco Gauff emerged as the top two, taking the first and second spots, respectively. Ons Jabeur secured the third position, and Marketa Vondrousova finished in fourth. In the last round, Iga Swiatek defeated Jabeur, and Gauff overcame Vondrousova.
The WTA Finals 2023 semi-finalists are: Iga Swiatek, Coco Gauff, Jessica Pegula, and Aryna Sabalenka.
