Survived by a miracle! UFC champion involved in horrific high-speed crash

American mixed martial artist Sean Strickland came within inches of death in an extremely dangerous road accident.

Details: The reigning UFC middleweight champion was involved in a serious crash while riding in the passenger seat of a vehicle. The 35-year-old fighter, nicknamed Tarzan, said he had allowed a friend to take the wheel before the vehicle veered off the road at around 60 miles per hour (approximately 96 km/h) and rolled over six times. During the crash, the athlete, who was traveling without a helmet or protective gear, hit his head hard on the ground.

In a video he posted, Strickland showed numerous abrasions and bruises on his head, shoulder and back, admitting that he was in a depressed and shocked state. According to the fighter, they both lost consciousness for a while after the devastating impact. Strickland's friend was taken to hospital with injuries, while Sean decided to stay home, calling himself an idiot for riding at high speed without a helmet.

It is worth noting that the incident caused serious concern among fans, bringing back memories of the terrifying motorcycle crash in December 2018 that forced Strickland to undergo complicated knee surgery and kept him out of the Octagon for two years. The American's professional record currently stands at 31 wins and 7 losses, while a title defense against Nassourdine Imavov is scheduled for UFC 335 in December.
