Surprise move: Werner in talks with New York Red Bulls

Despite ample playing time, Tottenham forward Timo Werner, currently on loan from RB Leipzig, has struggled to find his scoring form. However, the German striker appears to have another career option on the horizon.
Details: According to Foot Mercato, the 28-year-old is in negotiations with another club from the Red Bull group—New York Red Bulls of Major League Soccer (MLS). It remains unclear whether the deal would be a loan or a permanent transfer, and Werner’s stance on the potential move is still unknown.
Reminder: This season, Werner has made 26 appearances for Tottenham, scoring just one goal and providing three assists. His loan agreement with Spurs runs until the end of the season, while his contract with RB Leipzig is valid until the summer of 2026.
Currently sidelined with a hip injury, Werner’s absence further complicates Tottenham’s ongoing injury crisis—a situation head coach Ange Postecoglou has personally taken responsibility for.
