Nigeria's Super Falcons have been rewarded with a $60,000 goal bonus following their impressive 6-2 victory over Egypt in their final Group C match at the 2026 Women's Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).

The financial reward comes as part of a performance-based incentive introduced by the National Sports Commission (NSC) to motivate the reigning African champions throughout the tournament.

Before the competition began, the NSC announced that the Super Falcons would receive $5,000 for every goal scored during the tournament, starting from their opening group-stage match against Malawi.

However, after Nigeria's attacking masterclass against Egypt, Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) President Ibrahim Gusau revealed that the incentive had been significantly increased.

According to Gusau, the NSC decided to double the goal reward from $5,000 to $10,000 per goal, recognizing the team's outstanding performances and providing additional motivation as they prepare for the knockout stage.

With the Super Falcons scoring six goals against the Cleopatras, the revised incentive earned the team a total $60,000 goal bonus for the emphatic victory.
