Super Falcons Beat Cameroon 3-1 in Pre-WAFCON Friendly
The Super Falcons produced an impressive turnaround to defeat Cameroon 3-1 in their pre-2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) friendly at the Military Stadium on Tuesday.
The first encounter between the two sides had ended narrowly in favour of the hosts, with Cameroon edging Nigeria 1-0. However, the rematch saw the Super Falcons deliver a much more clinical performance.
Cameroon opened the scoring through Christiane in the 7th minute, but Chiwendu Ihezuo equalized in the 32nd minute. Just before halftime, Rinsola Babajide put Nigeria ahead, and Michelle Alozie sealed the 3-1 win with a header from captain Rasheedat Ajibade after the hour mark.
The Super Falcons, 10-time WAFCON champions, will open their WAFCON 2026 campaign against Malawi in Casablanca on March 18, drawn in Group C with Zambia and Egypt.
