Super Eagles Stars Mock Morocco After AFCON Final Heartbreak

Three Super Eagles players, Stanley Nwabali, Akor Adams and Bright Osayi-Samuel, have taken to social media to troll Morocco after the hosts lost the AFCON 2025 final to Senegal. The reactions followed Nigeria’s semi-final defeat to Morocco in Rabat, a match overshadowed by controversial refereeing. After that game, Osayi-Samuel labelled the officiating “appalling”, while Adams voiced frustration.

During both matches, Moroccan stewards were accused of unsporting behaviour, repeatedly interfering with goalkeepers’ towels. In the final, Senegal players resisted similar actions directed at Edouard Mendy. Pape Gueye’s late winner sealed Senegal’s title, and Nigeria’s bronze medallists mocked Morocco, insisting the deserving team triumphed overall.
