Super Eagles: Simon, Awoniyi, Adams and Others Arrive in Uyo Ahead of AFCON Qualifier

Moses Simon, Taiwo Awoniyi, Akor Adams, Moses Usor, George Ilenikhena, Emmanuel Fernandez, Isaac James and Benjamin Frederick have arrived in Uyo ahead of Nigeria’s 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifying clash against Madagascar.

The players are expected to link up with head coach Eric Chelle and the rest of the Super Eagles squad as preparations begin for the crucial Group-stage encounter.

Nigeria are scheduled to hold their first training session on Tuesday in Ikot Ekpene, Akwa Ibom, as the team steps up preparations for the start of their AFCON qualifying campaign.

The Super Eagles will face Madagascar in their opening qualifier on September 25 before travelling to take on Guinea-Bissau in their second Group-stage fixture on Tuesday, September 29.
