Super Eagles Set to Face Egypt Without Victor Osimhen and Moses Simon in Pre-AFCON Friendly
The Super Eagles will head into their international friendly against Egypt without the services of attacking stars Victor Osimhen and Moses Simon as preparations for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) continue.
Reports from SCORENigeria indicate that both players will miss the friendly and instead travel directly to Morocco from their respective club bases, where they are expected to rejoin the rest of the national team squad.
Their absence is likely to hand a golden opportunity to several new call-ups, who are expected to feature against the Pharaohs. Players tipped to get game time include Pisa midfielder Ebenezer Akinsanmiro, Blackburn Rovers defender Ryan Alebiosu, Tochukwu Nnadi of Belgian outfit Zulte-Waregem, and Croatia-based forward Salim Fago Lawal.
The friendly match, which serves as part of Nigeria’s build-up to AFCON 2025, will be staged at the Cairo International Stadium on Tuesday. The game is scheduled to kick off at 8:00 pm Nigerian time.
