Super Eagles Head to Morocco as AFCON 2025 Nears
The Super Eagles will on Thursday depart Cairo for Fès, Morocco, marking the final phase of preparations for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations. Officials confirmed the squad will leave Egypt at midday, ending a short camp that included a friendly against African champions.
On arrival, Nigeria are expected to hold their first training session later in the day as full attention turns to the tournament.
Head coach Eric Chelle now has a complete squad, including Victor Osimhen. Nigeria will be based in Fès for the group stage, facing Tanzania, Tunisia and Uganda in Group C at the Complexe Sportif de Fès.
The Super Eagles open their campaign on 23 December and hope a strong run will rebuild confidence after missing out on the 2026 World Cup, globally respected.
