The proposed international friendly between the Super Eagles and Iran later this month has been thrown into uncertainty.
The match was scheduled to open the Four-Nation Invitational Tournament in Amman, with Nigeria set to face Iran on March 27 at the Amman International Stadium. The Super Eagles were also billed to take on tournament hosts Jordan on March 31, in a mini-competition that also includes Costa Rica.
However, the fixture against Iran is now under serious doubt due to escalating political and security tensions involving the Middle Eastern nation. The deepening crisis has reportedly cast uncertainty over Iran’s international commitments, raising concerns about whether the team will participate as planned.
