Super Eagles Finish 2025 38th in FIFA Rankings
Nigeria’s Super Eagles ended the 2025 football year ranked 38th in the latest FIFA/Coca-Cola Men’s World Ranking, placing them inside the world’s top 40 but outside Africa’s elite.
The December edition followed 42 international matches, including the FIFA Arab Cup Qatar 2025 and continental qualifiers. Nigeria finished with 1,502.46 points, ranking fifth in Africa behind Morocco, Senegal, Egypt and Algeria. It marked Nigeria’s best finish in three years after ending 42nd in 2023 and 44th in 2024. Results included a 4-1 win over Gabon, a 1-1 draw with DR Congo and a penalty shootout loss that ended World Cup hopes.
Historically, Nigeria’s average ranking is 39th. Spain topped the global table, while Morocco led Africa in 11th. With AFCON underway in Morocco, Nigeria have a chance to climb higher in the coming months.
