Super duo Rashford and Asensio lead among top 5 league teams in an intriguing statistic

Aston Villa has advanced to the quarterfinals of the UEFA Champions League, and within the team, a magnificent tandem has emerged, leading one of the statistical categories.

Details: Marcus Rashford has provided four assists to Marco Asensio since January 2025. According to Opta, no player in the top 5 European leagues has assisted a teammate more frequently.

Incidentally, yesterday's victory was Real Madrid's fourth win in a penalty shootout in the history of the European Cup/UEFA Champions League. They have etched their name in the competition's history.

It was previously reported that one of the most controversial moments of the match was the disallowed Alvarez shot in the penalty shootout.

However, replays, photos, and freeze frames do not provide a definitive answer as to whether Alvarez touched the ball twice. From the angles shown in the broadcast, the contact of the Argentine's supporting foot with the ball is not visible.
