Sundowns Set to Decide Mbule’s Fate After Latest Off-Field Incident

Sipho Mbule’s career has taken another hit after Sekhukhune United cut short his loan spell from Mamelodi Sundowns due to reported misconduct. The midfielder’s future at Chloorkop now hangs in the balance.
Disciplinary Issues Resurface
The 27-year-old made 18 appearances this season for Sekhukhune, contributing 2 goals and 3 assists. However, off-field behavior appears to have once again overshadowed his talent.
According to Soccer Laduma, the club opted to release Mbule following a new breach of discipline—this despite having already resolved a previous conflict with a staff member earlier in the campaign.
Sundowns to Make a Call
This isn’t the first disciplinary episode for Mbule. In the 2022/23 season, Sundowns suspended him for arriving at training under the influence of alcohol.
With his current loan stint ending prematurely, and Sundowns now reviewing expiring contracts, sources say the club is seriously considering letting him go to make space for new arrivals.
