Strengthening for the Champions League? Nottingham Forest targets Wissa
The standout team of the first half of the Premier League season, Nottingham Forest, is making serious efforts to bolster their squad. The "Tricky Trees" have already begun work in this direction.
Details. According to journalist David Ornstein, Nottingham Forest has submitted a bid of £22 million to sign Yoane Wissa from Brentford.
However, it is noted that Forest’s offer is significantly below Brentford’s valuation of the forward. The Congolese striker’s current contract with the "Bees" runs until 2026, with an option for a one-year extension.
Nottingham Forest is also exploring alternative options in case negotiations for Wissa fail to materialize.
Background. Since joining Brentford from Lorient in August 2021, Wissa has scored 41 goals in 133 appearances for the West London club, also providing nine assists.
Previously, Brentford’s head coach ruled out the possibility of selling Bryan Mbeumo during the January transfer window.
