French football legend Thierry Henry has found himself at the center of a major scandal following fabricated quotes that spread like wildfire across social media.

In it, he passionately debunked the rumors claiming he had harshly criticized France captain Kylian Mbappé, and expressed deep regret over the viral spread of words he never uttered.

The reason for the fake news was a video clip from the tunnel before a friendly against Ivory Coast, where Mbappé allegedly ignored N'Golo Kanté. The creators of the hoax attributed harsh words to Henry, claiming Kylian was "crossing the line," damaging his reputation, and risking a toxic atmosphere by clashing with the most respected player of his generation.
