Stirring up conflict? Rapper Drake changes lyric about LeBron James in his song
Renowned rapper Drake appears to have some less-than-friendly feelings toward basketball legend LeBron James. The musician recently altered a lyric referencing LeBron during a live performance, TMZ reports.
While performing his track Nonstop during the Anita Max Wynn Tour in Australia, Drake modified a line that originally referenced the NBA star. The original lyric, "How I go from 6 to 23 like I'm LeBron?", was changed during the concert to "but NOT LeBron."
The rapper and the basketball star have known each other for years, but this isn’t the first time Drake has shown signs of hostility toward James. He previously took shots at him in the song Fighting Irish Freestyle and even unfollowed the NBA icon on social media. However, LeBron has not publicly addressed his relationship with Drake.
It seems that Drake may be displeased with LeBron’s admiration for Kendrick Lamar, with whom the rapper has an ongoing feud. James attended Lamar’s Juneteenth Pop Out concert and even rapped along to his songs during his 40th birthday celebration.
