To secure a new deal, Christensen will have to make certain concessions.

Details: According to journalist and insider Ekrem Konur on his social media page X, the management of Barcelona has contacted the team's 29-year-old center-back Andreas Christensen with an offer to extend his contract.

It is reported that the new deal for the Dane requires him to make some compromises. The Blaugrana management is offering Christensen a contract extension until 2028, but with a 50% reduction in his current salary. However, the deal includes a bonus system that will reward the defender if he features in at least 30% of the club’s matches during the season. Barcelona also wants to retain the right to terminate the contract unilaterally at any time.

Christensen suffered a very serious injury in December 2025. During one of the training sessions, Andreas tore his left knee’s anterior cruciate ligament. He is expected to return to the pitch in mid-April.

Christensen's current contract with Barcelona runs until the summer of this year, and his market value is estimated at 9 million euros by Transfermarkt.

Reminder: No changes. Joan Laporta remains president of Barcelona
