Stellenbosch player set for move to English Championship club

QPR are hoping to secure the 20-year-old defender as quickly as possible.
Details: According to Sinethemba Makonko, young defender Thailon Smith, who currently plays for Stellenbosch, has caught the eye of the English Championship side.
Thailon Smith drew attention after a stellar performance at the U20 AFCON, where he was named the tournament's best player and helped the Amajita side lift their first ever trophy.
It is reported that Smith is set to enter negotiations over personal terms with the English club, but this is not expected to be an obstacle and the defender could soon be on his way to England.
QPR finished last season in 15th place, conceding 63 goals. Smith's arrival could help the team shore up their backline for the upcoming campaign.
