In the second half, Stellenbosch came to life after a dull first half with little opportunities. Four minutes after the restart, Andre De Jong broke the tie by scoring from close range after taking advantage of defensive mistakes. Shortly after, the New Zealander calmly converted a penalty to double the lead and complete the victory.

Despite playing far from their Cape Town home due to the lack of a CAF-approved stadium, Stellenbosch showed resilience.
