Star, Gold, and Blue divisions. The renowned potential format of the Super League Star, Gold, and Blue divisions. The renowned potential format of the Super League

On Thursday, December 21, the European court overturned the decision to prohibit the creation of the Super League. As a result, A22 Sports announced the format for the upcoming tournament.

According to information, the plan entails three divisions - Star, Gold, and Blue. In total, 64 teams are expected to participate in the tournament. They will be divided into groups of eight teams, where opponents will play two matches against each other (home and away). Notably, teams have the potential to be relegated to a lower division or promoted to a higher one.

In the Star and Gold divisions, the top four teams from each group will compete in the final playoff. In the Blue division, two teams from each of the four groups will participate. The playoffs will follow a two-legged confrontation format, with the final taking place on neutral ground.

The bottom team in each group of the Star division will be demoted to the Gold division. Conversely, the top team from each group in the Gold division will be selected. The team with the lowest rating in each group of the Gold division will be replaced by the finalist from the Blue division playoff. Each season, 20 teams exit the Blue league (the lowest league) and are replaced by clubs from national championships.

Matches will take place midweek and will not interfere with the scheduling of national championships.

As a reminder, we have prepared a complete chronology of events related to the Super League for your reference.
