One of the most experienced and decorated players on the free-agent market is closing in on a return to top-level European football.

Details: Former Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund defender Rafael Guerreiro is still searching for a new club after the summer transfer window closed. According to insider Ekrem Konur, Italian side Roma and Greek giants Olympiacos are seriously considering a move for the 32-year-old Portuguese international.

The Portuguese's contract with the Munich giants expired in June 2026, after which the defender became a free agent. Guerreiro's biggest asset remains his tactical versatility: he can operate reliably on the left flank of the defense, fill in as a winger and play as a central midfielder. Roma see him as a valuable rotation option in Serie A, while the Piraeus-based club is ready to offer him a leading role in the project.

It is worth noting that Guerreiro has made 65 appearances for the Portugal national team, with whom he became a European champion in 2016. According to respected statistics portal Transfermarkt, the 32-year-old defender's current market value stands at €5 million.
