Mahmoud Kahraba, a forward for Al Ahly, has openly talked about his difficult relationship with Swiss coach Marcel Koller and why he is about to go on loan to Al-Ittihad Club in Libya.

In an interview with MBC MASR2, Kahraba shared his frustration about not getting enough playing time, even though he played well and helped Al Ahly win the CAF Champions League last season after his suspension was over.

“I was surprised that I wasn’t playing more often, especially after the team signed French striker Anthony Modeste,” he said.

Kahraba also talked about a disagreement over his personal life. He wanted to attend his sister’s wedding, which he had discussed with Koller. The coach agreed to let him go, but after that, Kahraba was moved down in the team’s pecking order.

Kahraba confirmed his decision to leave on loan this January, stating: “I chose to join Al-Ittihad Club of Libya due to reasons only those familiar with the deal can fully understand.”

The move marks a fresh chapter for the Egyptian star as he seeks regular playing time and a chance to regain his form away from the pressures of Al Ahly.
