Standoff between Karl Etta Eyong and Levante
The Cameroonian international refuses a transfer to Russia.
Levante is reportedly unhappy with Karl Etta Eyong. CSKA Moscow has reportedly made an offer of more than €30 million to secure the striker's services. However, the 22-year-old Cameroonian has reportedly refused to join the Russian club.
This has angered Levante's management, who find CSKA Moscow's offer tempting. In response to Etta Eyong's refusal, the Spanish club has decided to bench him against Villareal on Wednesday 18 February in the postponed match of the 16th round of La Liga. It remains to be seen whether the striker, who has scored six goals and made three assists in La Liga this season, will eventually give in to pressure from his club.
The Cameroonian is being watched by FC Barcelona, Real Madrid, Manchester United, Arsenal, Fulham and Everton. This could explain his refusal to join the Russian league.
