Spurs win the race! Tottenham agree deal for West Ham's 15-year-old captain
Tottenham continue to invest in the future, and this time Arsenal are left empty-handed.
Details: According to TEAMtalk, Tottenham have agreed a deal for West Ham wonderkid Isaac Allen. The 15-year-old England U15 captain is regarded as one of the Hammers' top academy talents, and Spurs beat off competition from several clubs, including a long pursuit from Arsenal.
The young midfielder has been on the radar of top Premier League sides all summer after deciding to leave West Ham's academy. Arsenal were seen as frontrunners for weeks, but Tottenham moved decisively to hijack the deal. For the Hammers, this is another painful academy exit in a summer of talent drain, while Spurs have already raided the London Stadium once this window by signing Mateus Fernandes.
The same report highlights that Spurs have effectively swapped Cristian Romero for Conor Gallagher this summer: the Argentine World Cup winner and former captain joined Atlético Madrid for a €40 million package, while the English midfielder had arrived in the opposite direction back in January for the same fixed fee. Tottenham's season is indeed looking sharp already.
It's worth noting that Allen has already captained England at U15 level and is considered one of the standout players of his age group in the country.
Reminder: Transfer bombshell for €100 million! Tottenham target Manchester City winger.
