Sporting officially dismisses coach who replaced Amorim

In November 2024, Ruben Amorim took charge of Manchester United, and João Pereira stepped in as his replacement at Sporting. However, Pereira's tenure was short-lived.

Details: The Lisbon club announced on their social media channels that the coach who succeeded Ruben Amorim has been dismissed. Sporting expressed gratitude for his efforts, and according to Fabrizio Romano, Rui Borges will be appointed as the new head coach in the coming hours, with the paperwork already signed.

Notably, João Pereira managed to secure only two victories in eight matches as Sporting's head coach. The team has relinquished the top spot in the league standings and now sits in second place with 37 points after 15 rounds.

Reminder: Manchester United's last three matches have been played without Marcus Rashford, who hasn’t even made the squad. However, United manager Ruben Amorim has made it clear that this is not related to Rashford's recent statements.
