Sporting Lagos Secure NPFL Promotion with Crucial Win Over Osun United

Sporting Lagos have officially sealed their return to the Nigeria Premier Football League after grinding out a hard-fought 1–0 victory against Osun United on Thursday.

The decisive moment came early in the match at the Lanre Leke Stadium, where forward Alex Leme found the breakthrough in the 17th minute. He calmly slotted home after being set up by his strike partner Aliyu Baba, a goal that ultimately proved enough to separate the two sides.

Sporting Lagos showed composure and discipline for the remainder of the game, holding on to their slender lead despite pressure from Osun United. The final whistle confirmed a significant milestone for the club, marking their return to Nigeria’s top-flight league after spending two seasons in the second tier.

With this promotion, Sporting Lagos become the third team to secure a place in the NPFL this season, joining Doma United and Inter Lagos in moving up from the Nigeria National League.
