The Sabadell — Andorra match in the eighth round of Spain's Segunda will not take place as scheduled. The fixture at the Nova Creu Alta stadium was called off due to extreme weather conditions in Catalonia.

A red weather alert has been issued in the region because of heavy rain, while the Catalan authorities have activated the INUNCAT emergency plan. Amid the threat of intense precipitation and significant water accumulation, outdoor sporting events have been suspended. A new date for the match has not yet been set.

The postponement is particularly frustrating for Sabadell, who made a confident start to the season. After seven rounds, the team have 12 points, with three wins, three draws and one defeat. The Catalan side sit seventh in the table.

Andorra, by contrast, are in the lower part of the standings. The team have six points from seven matches — two wins and five defeats — leaving them in 18th place.

Both teams will now have to wait for a new date, with the decision on when the fixture will be played taking into account the weather situation and the safety of the players and supporters.
