Southgate praises England team after failure in North Macedonia

England coach Gareth Southgate was pleased with the way his players performed in their European Championship 2024 qualifier against North Macedonia.
The meeting took place yesterday and ended with a score of 1:1, which came as a surprise to many.
"I think the game was good. Our team showed their character. We played well and were in complete control of the match. However, we had difficulties due to the opponent's defence, it was not easy to make the last pass, but still there were several great moments in the game," Southgate was quoted as saying by the Evening Standard.
It is remarkable that after eight matches of the qualifying tournament for Euro 2024, the England team won the group.
The English team scored 20 points and took first place in Group C, pre-ensuring themselves a place at the European Championship.
At the same time, North Macedonia, after eight games, scored eight points and took fourth place.
