Djibouti secured a 1-0 victory over South Sudan in the second leg of their qualifier, but it was South Sudan who progressed comfortably with a 4-1 aggregate win.
The encounter remained goalless for much of the contest, with both sides struggling to find a breakthrough in the first half. Djibouti eventually made their pressure count in the 77th minute, when Samuel Temidayo found the back of the net to give the hosts a deserved lead on the day.
However, the result had little impact on the overall outcome of the tie. South Sudan had already established a commanding 4-0 advantage from the first leg, putting them firmly in control heading into the return fixture.
