Portuguese coach Paulo Sousa, who has been managing UAE’s Al-Shabab since July, is attracting attention from major European leagues, with a prestigious Serie A club potentially considering him for a top position.
Details: According to Il Messaggero and La Gazzetta dello Sport, the 54-year-old coach has caught the eye of AS Roma, which may soon part ways with current manager Ivan Jurić. Reports indicate that Roma has already reached out to Sousa, but his departure from Al-Shabab might face complications if the UAE club requests compensation from Roma for his release.
Reminder: Sousa’s most recent European team was Salernitana, where he worked for less than a year. From 2015 to 2017, he coached Fiorentina, and he has also managed the Polish national team. As for Jurić, Roma’s management could decide to dismiss him as soon as November 4.
