Son of Gianluigi Buffon explains why he chose the Czech national team over Italy

Louis Buffon, the 17-year-old son of Italian football legend Gianluigi Buffon, is following in his father's footsteps as a footballer—currently playing for Serie B team Pisa and has even debuted in their main squad. However, Louis made a surprising choice regarding his national team: instead of Italy, he chose the Czech Republic. In an interview with Czech media, he explained why he made this decision.
It's worth noting that Louis Buffon had the opportunity to represent the Czech national team because his mother is Czech TV host and model Alena Seredova. Louis himself was born and raised in Italy and doesn't even speak Czech. His parents started dating in 2005, got married in 2011, but separated three years later.

"I spoke with my family and together we decided that it would be better for my football career and my development as a player to play for the Czech Republic. My mother, of course, was very happy, but my father was also excited because it was my first call-up for the national team," Buffon shared.

It's worth mentioning that Louis Buffon was called up to the Czech Republic's under-18 national team and will soon have the chance to take the field with them.
