Tottenham's head coach Ange Postecoglou has announced that Son Heung-min will miss several matches to recover from a foot injury and focus on the Europa League.

Son didn't play in the 1-0 victory against Eintracht on Thursday due to his foot issue, but his team advanced to the Europa League semi-finals with an aggregate score of 2-1. Postecoglou confirmed that Son will also miss the match against Nottingham Forest on Monday, with his return dependent on his recovery progress.

"Son has been dealing with foot problems for some time. I think now is the right time to give him a rest," said the coach.

Postecoglou added that Son always wants to train, but he needs time to recover. It should be noted that Tottenham is still in the hunt for their first trophy in 17 years — a Europa League victory. However, in the Premier League, the team recently suffered their 17th defeat of the season, losing 0-2 to Wolverhampton.

Tottenham is experiencing one of their weakest seasons in recent times, currently sitting in only 15th place in the Premier League after 32 rounds. Therefore, focusing on the Europa League becomes extremely important for the team. Winning this tournament could be their only chance at redemption for a disappointing season and restoring confidence among their fans.
