Ring girl Gemma Jones shared insights about her profession in an interview with The Sun, revealing that the job is far less glamorous than it might seem. Having worked in the industry for seven years, she admits that it comes with its fair share of challenges.

Jones participates in various combat sports events, including bare-knuckle boxing and MMA fights. She disclosed that the pay isn't particularly high, with ring girls earning up to £500 per evening. In some cases, she even has to work at two events in a single night.

The job can also be risky, as fighters’ unpredictable movements in the ring can lead to accidental injuries. Additionally, crowd disturbances have been known to turn violent, with beer bottles occasionally being thrown into the ring.

Maintaining an impeccable appearance is a crucial part of the job, requiring constant self-care. High stress tolerance is also essential, as ring girls must remain composed even in uncomfortable situations or restrictive outfits.

Jones highlighted that working conditions are not always ideal, with limited access to proper dressing rooms. Moreover, she has to be prepared for the reality of being splattered with blood and sweat from the fighters during matches.
