In the first leg of the UEFA Champions League preliminary round, PSG faced Monaco, and the match produced a milestone that had stood for years.

Details: As reported by Squawka Live, Désiré Doué became the first player since the autumn of 2019 to score a brace in a Champions League match after coming on as a substitute. The last player to accomplish this was Kylian Mbappé, who, on that occasion, netted a hat-trick for the Parisians.

Meanwhile, the Champions League playoff clash against Monaco began in disastrous fashion for PSG. The fans had barely settled into their seats when Folarin Balogun lofted the ball into the Parisians’ net.

It marked only the second time in Champions League history that a team has conceded at such an early stage of a match. PSG were completely unprepared for Monaco’s blistering opening surge.

Recall: On Tuesday, February 17, the UEFA Champions League preliminary round clash between Borussia Dortmund and Atalanta was scheduled to take place, but it did not kick off as planned.
