The fight between British heavyweights Dillian Whyte and Joe Joyce has been canceled due to the "Villain's" injury.

As Whyte explained, he injured his finger during a gym workout. Dillian required seven stitches to close the wound, and doctors also used medical glue due to the severity of the injury. The heavyweight described how serious the cut was.

Quote. "I was working out in the gym, and everyone is supposed to put away their dumbbells. But someone didn't, and their weight rolled under the bench. I was using dumbbells at the time, and when I went to put them down, I pinched my finger between my dumbbell and the ones left by another person. I literally just crushed my finger.

They put in seven stitches just to hold it in place because it's very deep. It goes down to the bone and nerve. They had to glue it and then add stitches to somehow keep it in place. Plus, the location is tricky because it can easily open up again," the boxer told Daily Mail.

Reminder. Whyte was supposed to face Joyce in his third fight after the setback in the rematch with Anthony Joshua in 2023. The British heavyweights were set to headline a packed Queenberry Promotions event at the Co-Op Live arena in Manchester on April 5.
