Solid company. Espanyol celebrated their 1,000th victory in La Liga

In the ninth round of the Spanish La Liga, Catalan Espanyol experienced a remarkable event. The team defeated Mallorca at home, achieving their milestone 1,000th victory in the tournament.

With this win, Espanyol joined Real Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia, Atlético, Sevilla, and Athletic Club, who have all surpassed this mark. The "Periquitos" became only the seventh team on this list, which is led by Barcelona and Real Madrid by a significant margin.

Since returning to the top division, Espanyol has accumulated 10 points in nine matches and is attempting to secure a mid-table position.

It's worth noting that the Catalan club has won the Copa del Rey four times and has also claimed bronze medals in La Liga on four occasions. Interestingly, the majority of the team's history has been spent in La Liga, but they have not achieved anything significant in the last 15 years.
