Today in Wuhan, China, the final of the WTA 1000 tournament took place, featuring the world No. 2, Aryna Sabalenka, and China's No. 7 ranked player, Zheng Qinwen.

In the first set, Sabalenka struggled with errors, serving two aces but managing to break Zheng's serve once while holding her own. This secured her a confident 6-3 victory.

In the second set, Zheng raised her level significantly. Despite losing her second serve early, she broke Sabalenka twice. However, Zheng relinquished her lead as Sabalenka clawed back from 3-5 to 5-6. In the end, Zheng took advantage of a late break to win the set 7-5.

The third set opened with Zheng losing her serve. She managed to take a game on Sabalenka’s second serve and followed it up with a hold of her own. Zheng then broke again, but it wasn’t enough to stop Sabalenka, who secured the set and the match.
