Sinner narrowly defeated Rublev in the Cincinnati Masters quarterfinal

World No. 1, Italian Jannik Sinner, has advanced to the semifinals of the Cincinnati Masters.
In the quarterfinals, Sinner faced Andrey Rublev, ranked sixth in the world. The Italian struggled at the start of the match, allowing his opponent to win the first three games and eventually lost the set 4-6. In the second set, Sinner made an early break, but Rublev responded in kind. Rublev couldn’t hold on until the tiebreaker, and by the third set, he had completely run out of energy.

Notably, Sinner hasn’t performed well at this tournament in the past. Last year, he was knocked out in the second round, and his best result is reaching the third round in 2022.
In the semifinals, the Italian will face the winner of the Alexander Zverev vs Ben Shelton match, which is set to start shortly.
