World number one tennis player Jannik Sinner has withdrawn from the ATP 250 tournament in Bastad.

According to the Italian tennis star, he made this decision due to body fatigue and the need for recovery.

"I’m sad to withdraw from the Bastad tournament next week due to fatigue.

This has never been an easy decision as I would love to play, but following the advice of my team and doctors, it's best to rest and recover. I hope to play in Bastad in the future; I've heard it's a great tournament," Sinner wrote on his X account.

The Bastad tournament is scheduled to take place from July 15 to 21. Sinner is also slated to represent Italy at the Olympics.

It should be noted that Sinner's run at Wimbledon 2024 ended in the quarterfinals, where he lost to world number five Daniil Medvedev.
