Today in Shanghai, China, the final match of the ATP Masters 1000 took place, featuring the world’s No. 1 player, Jannik Sinner from Italy, against former top-ranked and the most decorated player in the tournament’s history, Novak Djokovic.

Details: The first set was tightly contested. Sinner made more mistakes, serving six aces but committing fourteen unforced errors. However, the set reached a tiebreak, where the Italian prevailed, winning 7-4.

In the second set, Djokovic’s level of play dipped, and Sinner seized the opportunity by breaking the Serbian's serve, which shifted the momentum entirely. Despite three aces and nine unforced errors, Sinner confidently secured the second set.

Quote: "It was a tough match. Playing against Novak, one of the toughest opponents, was challenging.

He served very well on his first serves. I could barely return them, and the first set went to a tiebreak.

But in the second set, I managed to do what I was aiming for and achieved my goal," said Sinner during his on-court flash interview after the victory.

Added: This match between Jannik Sinner and Novak Djokovic marked their ninth meeting in history. The Italian claimed his fourth victory in head-to-head encounters, with his third consecutive win. Notably, it was the first time Sinner did not drop a single set to Djokovic in their meetings.

For Jannik Sinner, this victory in the Shanghai Masters is his first in this tournament, making him the youngest champion in its history. Previously, Andy Murray held the record, but Sinner surpassed it at the age of 23 years and 58 days.

Additionally, this triumph marked Sinner's second consecutive ATP Masters win, following his victory in Cincinnati. Earlier this year, he also claimed the title in Miami.
