Simon Adingra sidelined again at Ajax
Injured once more, the Ivorian international will have to wait a while before returning to action.
Simon Adingra is going through a difficult spell at Ajax Amsterdam. Having arrived from Sunderland during the last summer transfer window on a season-long loan with an option to buy, the Ivorian winger is struggling to get his career off the ground with the Dutch club.
Since his arrival, Adingra has played just one league match for Ajax. Whilst a glimmer of hope had emerged following his debut on 10 October, a new injury has further hampered his adaptation and, for the time being, jeopardised his continued involvement on the pitch.
When asked about the Ivorian international’s situation, Ajax manager Míchel Sánchez did not give a timeframe for his return.
“I don’t know when Simon Adingra will be back. We don’t want to take any risks with him,” he said.
The Ivorian winger is therefore unlikely to return to competitive action any time soon. Simon Adingra will first need to regain full fitness before he can hope to get his season back on track in the Netherlands. This situation also jeopardises his return to the Ivory Coast national team.
