Simões Guambe to take charge of ZED FC v Azam FC in the CAF Confederation Cup

ZED FC will host Azam FC in the first leg of the second preliminary round of the 2026–2027 CAF Confederation Cup.

The match is scheduled for Friday 16 October at the Cairo International Stadium in Egypt. Kick-off is at 5 pm GMT. The Confederation of African Football has appointed Mozambican referee Simões Guambe to officiate the match.

The Mozambican will be the referee for this clash at the Cairo International Stadium. Simões Guambe has experience of refereeing at both national and continental level. He has been officiating in the Mozambican league since 2018 and is frequently selected by CAF to referee its inter-club competitions.

Simões Guambe will therefore be at the heart of the decision-making in this clash between ZED FC and Azam FC as they battle for a place in the group stage of the CAF Confederation Cup.
