After Atlético Madrid's 3-1 win over Seattle Sounders, Diego Simeone declared that his team must treat every remaining match at the Club World Cup as a final. Speaking to TyC Sports, the Argentine coach praised his side’s aggressive play and set the tone for the next match against Botafogo, calling the Brazilian club “a strong side with pace, tough defenders, and attacking flair.”

Simeone also took aim at FIFA for the tournament’s logistical setup, criticizing the long walks to the locker rooms in U.S. stadiums. “It takes us four minutes to reach the dressing room. Returning in time for the second half is nearly impossible,” he stated. The complaint echoes similar grievances voiced by Scaloni, Gareca, and Bielsa during the last Copa América, where several coaches were suspended for delays.

With their tournament hopes on the line, Atlético must now defeat Botafogo in what Simeone framed as a must-win Group B finale.
