Simba Secure CAF Confederation Cup Knockout Spot with Draw Against Bravos
Simba Sports Club have clinched a spot in the CAF Confederation Cup quarterfinals after a hard-earned 1-1 draw against Bravos do Maquis at the 11 de Novembro Stadium in Angola. The Tanzanian giants advanced on the head-to-head regulation, having previously defeated Bravos 1-0 in Dar es Salaam.
Abednego Mosiatlhago gave Bravos the lead in the 13th minute after Simba's Che Fondoh Malone made a poor ball back to his goalkeeper, Moussa Camara. But Simba rallied in the second half, and Bravos' defensive blunder in the 69th minute allowed Leonel Ateba to score the game-winning goal.
Simba earned 10 points and advanced to the next round because to their tenacity and outstanding defense, which allowed them to hang onto the draw. With 12 points, CS Constantine tops the group after defeating CS Sfaxien 3-0. Bravos are now eliminated from the competition, and Simba's spot in the knockout stage will be determined by their last group matchup with Constantine.
